St. Mark's Cooperative Nursery School, located in Rockville Centre, New York, is a non-profit organization owned and operated by its members - the parents. The school is registered with the New York State Department of Education. We provide 3-year-old, 4-year-old and 5-year-old enrichment classes, as well as 2-year-old Mommy and Me and Separation classes.
Our nursery school is special because we are a "cooperative." Our school is run by the families whose children attend classes. A Cooperative Nursery school represents the joint effort of parents and educators to provide young children with the best possible experiences for growth and development.
Parents and/or caregivers participate in the classroom on a rotating basis for your child's "special day." Depending on how often your child's class meets, you can expect to come to class with your child between 6-9 times over the 10 month school year.
You will also serve on one of many committees that help run the school, ranging from Fundraising to Substitute Teaching to Animal Care. You can see a complete list of committees here.
